Meta Quest and Augmented Reality

The Meta Quest 3's Next-Gen Augmented Reality feature has been delayed.  😣 The CTO revealed that the feature was sent back to the drawing board in January because it "wasn't that good enough". Originally slated for release this year, Augments (AR models) are now likely to launch in 2024. The feature was first showcased at Connect 2023, demonstrating how digital picture frames and mirrors could be placed in a user's home. However, the underlying Spark Studio platform used for Augments was not the best fit, and the latest AR tools are now being leveraged to refashion the feature.  While details on the updated Augments are scarce, the overhaul of the Horizon OS operating system suggests a refined experience is in the works.  ___ #Metaquest #AR #AugmentedReality #Augments ___ Try LinkTree https://www.linktr.ee/questrequestvr

This decision likely stems from the desire to ensure a smooth release and avoid oversaturating the market with multiple Horizon OS-powered headsets in a short period. Cutting-Edge Display Technology One of the most exciting aspects of the Meta Quest Pro 2 is its potential display technology. LG recently announced a new 4K micro OLED display with a resolution of 3840×3840 per eye, surpassing even the Apple Vision Pro's impressive 3660×3200 per eye. With a staggering 10,000 nits of brightness, the display is designed to overcome the light-reducing effects of panc...
